This is a glimpse of the Old Municipal Hall. It is situated in an elevated portion of Barangay Old Poblacion- structured with a “terasa” or terrace where one can see the overlooking beautiful view of Guimaras Strait. According to stories told by the old folks, during their time, the ground portion of the Municipal Hall served as the prison cell for those who committed crimes against the government.

The building was presumably constructed in 1881.

The Heroes Park is considered as historical landmark and is also called the Mini Park. It is where the emblem of the List of Heroes of Buenavista during the World War II is structured. This is in memory of the brave Buenavistahanons who have fought against the savagery and brutalities of alien foes, and died because of their love for fellow Buenavistahanons.

McArthur’s Headquarters and Camp Jossman is about seven (7) kilometers from Sto. Rosario Wharf, now called Buenavista Wharf, going to Barangay Supang.

In 1901, the American soldiers arrived and cordoned Barangay Supang. In 1903-1904, they established a camp and called it Camp Jossman where a regiment of American soldiers and two (2) battalions of the Philippine Scouts encamped wherein they constructed a structure to be used as their headquarters.
